Calhoun's Personal Insurance Package Review
Read on for Calhoun Insurance Agency's findings for the best personal insurance packages availabe in 2010/11. Contact our agency for further details.
Calhoun’s purpose is to continuously review insurance terms with 35 different insurance carriers. As you may remember, Calhoun reaches out to you periodically to review your insurance. Below, please find our rankings for personal insurance packages and personal insurance premiums. These rankings are a summary of our findings in the last 18 months. We invite you to go over your insurance renewal with us, or, if you would prefer not to wait until your renewal, to contact me immediately to schedule a consultation. Here are our top-rated carriers, by coverage and by premium. Not included in the rankings is the carrier Chubb. Chubb provides exceptional coverage, ideally suited to homes $1,000,000 +, with add-ons that make a distinctive client feel secure. This coverage comes with an expected premium. We felt this package skewed the rest of the information below, so we omitted it from the chart.

Notes: Chubb is significant coverage, often for a significant price. Allied’s coverage is unbeat by any package. Selective’s coverage compared to Safeco’s relatively new “Optimum” program, as well as Travelers “Platinum” endorsement or HVP endorsement. West Bend Home & Highway package rates varied with their special pricing for special professionals, which could affect their ranking considerably. MetLife’s coverages were superior in only rare circumstances.
In many cases, people thought they had superior coverage from past comparisons of the old St. Paul Companies’ Pak II coverage to what was the marketplace then, not now. In almost 100% of MetLife comparisons, same or better coverage was available at better premium with similar national A-rated carriers. Don’t see a carrier we represent? We didn’t find they ranked by volume, coverage, or claim service. For example, we didn’t add AAA as the coverage is dissimilar to most of the above, the roadside assistance is double the rate of Allied for less coverage, and the claims service didn’t perform well enough for us to recommend the product to new clients in 2009.
